Comair Training Centre offers a variety of soft skills courses for Cockpit Crew, Cabin Crew and ground personnel. The courses may be completed as standalone courses or may be included as part of a training package. The courses are all offered for initial or recurrent training.
No valuable aviation training is complete without the execution of the practical elements. In order to achieve these objectives, we at the CTC have our own B737 narrow-body generic simulator, complete with bulkheads, smoke simulator, passenger and crew seats, fully equipped functional doors and slides, over-wing exits, flight deck seats and equipment as well as on-board equipment.
- Crew Resource Management (CRM)
Comair Training Centre offers both Initial and Refresher CRM training for airline and the general aviation sectors.
Crew resource management or cockpit resource management (CRM) training is used primarily for improving air safety. CRM focuses on interpersonal communication, leadership, and decision making in the cockpit. Comair Training Centres CRM courses are widely regarded as the best in the industry.
Our CRM team provides the latest in Human Factors training by training crew members to think creatively and pragmatically. A dynamic environment requires dynamic crews. Soft skills training is as much a part of modern aviation as any other skill.

- Safety and Emergency Procedures (SEP)
Comair Training Centre Safety and Emergency Procedures training is tailored for both flight deck and cabin crew. It utilizes our very own 737 which has been moved to our premises and equipped with escape slides, smoke generators, and safety equipment.
- Dangerous Goods Training (DG)
We offer dangerous goods training specific to Aircrew as required by the IATA regulations.
- Flight dispatchers course
Comair Training Centre offers an approved Flight Dispatcher or Flight Operations Officer course in a modular format.
In its modular form, the course is ideally spread over a five month period in two week blocks of study, followed by two weeks where the trainee can resume his normal duties with his or her employer if required.The course can be conducted in one block however, it is a very intense course that would take ten weeks if presented full time.
All subjects required by the SACAA for a Flight Dispatcher Certificate are presented.
The course includes Navigation General, Meteorology, Dangerous Goods, ETOPS, Crew Resource Management, Radio and Radio Aids, Weight and Balance, NAT/MNPS and RVSM Airspace, SACAA Legislation, MEL, Boeing 737 Technical, Principles of Flight and Performance, and Flight Planning.
- Train the trainer
Comair offers training for aviation trainers on teaching and presenting training courses. We teach the use of correct training techniques by incorporating technology and training aids. Comair also teaches the trainer to understand personality traits and communication styles to better understand and facilitate and adult learning environment.
We offer training in Traffic Collision Avoidance systems including training in TCAS II 7.1 which is required to operate within EASA and EUROCONTROL airspace. Practical training can also be conducted on one of our simulators if required.
Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum training
Comair Aviation training offers Area Navigation (RNAV) and Required Navigation Performance (RNP) training. The ground school phase incorporates all the theoretical knowledge required to complete RNAV(GNSS) approaches. Practical training may also be completed on the Boeing 737-800 simulators.
